Sleeping in has definitely changed in shape over the years. When I was in high school, sleeping in meant I slept until 10-11am on the weekends while my parents complained that I was missing the entire day. When I was in college, sleeping in meant getting up at 1pm (since I didn't go to bed until 3am) on the weekends. Actually, I can remember my typical college sleep schedule being from 2-6am, so that's probably why I slept so freaking much on the weekends. In grad school, since I stayed up so late every night with my online friends (thank goodness I was on Pacific time - my Eastern time friends would be online until the sun came up!), sleeping in usually meant until 12pm. That was much to the detriment of my practice schedule and classes (I lost track of how many times I missed my 9:40 class my second year of grad school - oops). After I got married, I slept in until about 10am while the husband had been up for hours running chores and doing other things. Now? If I can sleep past 6am (with the kiddies around), it's like a party in my head and I feel so refreshed. Most of the time.
Here's hoping the girls sleep in tomorrow morning! *fingers crossed*
