Since we got a notice from the HOA before our trip about our out-of-control weeds in the front yard, I've been slowly whittling away at the jungle that is slowing coming out of the ground there. It's been 15 minutes here, 30 minutes there, trying to get it down to a manageable level. The husband finally got out the hula hoe the other day and whacked down most of it, and I came through this evening in about 1.5 hours to take down the rest. WHEW. Now the HOA can't bitch about our weeds anymore.
Things I have learned from weeding, both these past weeks and in the past:
1. I should really wear gloves. My right hand was covered in small cuts and blood when I was done today.
2. Desert weeds are really, really sharp.
3. I should have sprayed herbicide across the entire yard back in January.
4. The girls are no good at weeding.
5. I hate the HOA.
