Today was Beach Day! We drove over to A, V, and S's, and then headed out to Laguna Beach. The drive over was gorgeous - it's no wonder it's such a huge artist community. The hills surrounding the area just make it beautiful beyond belief, and the houses on top of those hills must be worth millions! We parked in the public parking lot, walked a short distance to the beach, and then set up camp near the playground (not that the kids actually used it). Then, beach! L got doused by the ocean almost immediately, resulting in sand everywhere, but she loved it. E didn't want to touch the sand or sea at all for quite awhile. It was quite funny - I'd hold her low over the sand and she'd curl her legs up as far as she could to not touch the sand. Ha! She eventually did, and liked it, but it took awhile. We played in the sand and water, walked out to where there are tide pools at low tide (it was high tide), and just generally enjoyed our time in the sun. I got sunburn on my back, but it could have been much worse I suppose. E fell asleep on my husband at the beach, and L fell asleep in the car on the way back to the hotel. We threw them both in the tub to wash off all the sand and then ate some lunch.
Attempted nap at the hotel was a total failure. E refused to nap and instead played with the hotel curtains. L couldn't nap because E kept talking to her, plus she had just slept in the car. ARGH! So, back to the townhouse we went to meet up for dinner at Souplantation. Yummy! Then, back to the hotel for the evening.
Back to AZ tomorrow, but not before playing with S a little more!
