Father's Day in PHX

After a long morning/afternoon filled with running, L's sports practice, Skyping with college friends, packing for our drive, and napping, we drove up to Tempe for a pre-Father's Day get-together at the husband's uncle's house.

Seriously, who schedules a 3- & 4-year-old sports practice for 9am in the summer??!?  Do something earlier when it's cooler, and find a field that actually has some SHADE!

The girls were thrilled to see their cousins C and A again, swim in the pool, and play with the family again.  I'm glad that we could pop up for the evening, enjoy the food and company of everyone, and still end up in our beds that night.  However, I could do without the girls asking "where are we now?" every two seconds while driving, and then fighting sleep while we were going home so they could see how everything looked at night (don't worry, they finally dropped off around Casa Grande!).

Everyone enjoying the pool.  It was PERFECT.
