Here is a link to my original post with my New Year's resolutions. I'm also recapping below with updates.
1. Lose 15 pounds - So far so good! In the past three months, I can say that I've lost 8 pounds officially. Unofficially, I've seen the scale dip down to 10 pounds below my January 1st weight, but it hasn't stay at that point. YAY! Keep in mind my PCOS makes it about three times harder to lose weight than "normal" people, so I suppose if I was normal, I would have lost about 20 pounds by now. It's all due to running longer and eating less sugar. Huzzah!
2. Workout 5 times per week, 30 minutes (at least) per workout - I've actually cut my workout schedule during the first quarter of the year to four times per week. I do 3-4 miles three times a week (about 25-35 minutes per workout), and then do one long run on the weekend (6-12 miles, so 1-2 hours). Not five times per week, but I like to think I'm still doing well.
3. Donate one box of stuff per month to Goodwill - I've donated about five boxes at one time so far, does that count? That was in February. I'm sure I could come up with some more boxes now. It's actually really invigorating to clean up our stuff, donate what we don't need, and make space. I LOVE having more space!
4. Limit computer time - Definitely not doing well here. I was okay for a couple weeks, then went back to normal. Well, it's less than I was doing before the start of the year, but it's still not great. Gah. I need to find a way to limit this more.
5. Eat better and less sugar - Definitely doing this! One fine point of running that I've found is that I don't want to eat stuff that makes me feel icky, especially while running. That means sugary stuff has been cut probably in half and I don't eat just because it's there anymore either.
6. Bake something at least once a month - This has been a fun one to meet. I've made cookies, dinners, cakes, and other goodies that have been really fun to do alone and with the girls. I think I'm doing this about 3-4 times a month right now!
7. Eat out less often - Not doing so well here. I'd say that if we were doing 10 times a month before, we're down to 9 times now. Better, but not great. I would sincerely like to cut this number to 1-2 times per month, but it's just...hard. Working on it.
8. No soda - I do great...until it's Sunday. For some reason, Sunday is the day that I decide "hey, a soda would be awesome!" Not only does it not quench my thirst, it also makes me guzzle water for the rest of the day because it hasn't done me a lick of good. I really should learn! Sigh.
9. Run a half marathon - I did a half marathon on March 24th and really enjoyed it. I'm doing another in October, and potentially another in December! It's like an addiction now...
