I am constantly amazed by L. She had a new teacher for her preschool class yesterday (the other one moved), and she was so excited. L fell asleep about 9:30pm last night (!), and then crawled into bed with me at 5:15am. Her first words? "Is it time to go to school now?" Yeah, she was excited. After breakfast was done, she kept asking "can we go now? can we go now???"
Once we got to school, she practically ran to her classroom and wanted to look in the window to see her new teacher. Her new teacher, Ms. L, is a retired lady that used to teach there until a few years ago. She's just taking over for the rest of this school year. I introduced L to Ms. L, and L was all smiles and happy as can be. Ms. L showed her some new things in the classroom, and L immediately sat down to attempt her hand at them. I left and she was happy as can be, playing and chattering away at Ms. L (she was the first one there).
When I came back to pick her up, the other parents let me know that their kids had had major problems when they dropped them off. Most of them cried and screamed not to be left there with a new teacher, and one even wet themselves (apparently). Another child wet themselves during circle time at the end of the preschool day, as the room smelled bathroom-y when I came to get L.
I'm so happy that L greets change and new things with such enthusiasm, happiness, and excitement. I don't have to worry (most of the time) if something is going to work for her because she hardly ever balks at things. Even if she announces "I don't like it" before she ever tries it, I can usually coax her to check it out, and then she's off to the races doing it (even if she ends up not liking it after all!). I hope she keeps this quality all throughout her life!
