Sports energy mix, take 1

Yesterday, during my 10-mile run, I took an energy/sports drink mix with me.  I drank it over the course of a few miles and started feeling all tingly, but also felt that I could keep going for quite awhile.  Afterwards, it was a disaster.  I wasn't dehydrated, or exhausted, or hungry, but I ended up being nauseated, dizzy, and completely out of it.  The only thing I did different yesterday during my run was the energy drink.  That must be it.

So, I guess I'm not going to go that route to help me sustain myself during the half marathon.  I believe the stuff was called Spark or S---- something (sparkle?  lol).  Next weekend, I'll try the GU gel and see if that works any better.

Also?  Thank goodness the chafing spots are no longer painful and raw - they kind of scabbed over last night.  Eeww, but yay the pain went away!
