Evaluation Day - Summary

Still too tired to make a real post so I'll just post bits about the day yesterday.

274 students evaluated
38 teachers with students being evaluated
12 judges evaluating students

251 students passed their music theory tests
23 did not, including one student who got 6/100.  I kid you not (she did it on purpose, we found out later).  One student at the highest level (level 12) also failed.  Oops.

Can't even fathom how many steps I took yesterday all around the building making sure things were running smoothly, running errands, helping with whatever needed to be done, and finding the guy in charge of the building to lock/unlock rooms.

My co-chair flipped out at how her judge was evaluating her students and demanded I go tell the judge to stop doing it (stop doing what she's supposed to be doing?  um...okay?).  I went to the judge, asked her what she was doing, and, being a past adjudicator myself, told her to keep doing what she was doing.  I would have done the same thing!  Then I told my co-chair I had spoken to her (which I had).  Amusing to me.

Came home to one extremely rude email from a teacher that was a complete overreaction and opposite to a discussion we had earlier.  Professionally, I apologized for whatever it was and hoped we could move on from it.  Personally, I wanted to go rip her throat out, tell her she's making shit up, and give her a cardboard box to go f* herself.  I'm thankful my professional self won out on that email.

Woke up at 5am, went to bed at 11pm.  Very, very long day and very, very tired.

I am proud to say that my students both receive Excellent ratings (Superior, Excellent, Fair, Poor) and passed their theory tests.  YAY!  Nothing like having a good review of your students and yourself.  :)
