Date "Day"

My husband and I offered our girls to our in-laws this weekend, and they snatched them up without two seconds wait.  The girls were dropped off at their house this morning at 9am and will be there until about 10am tomorrow, meaning that Husband and I have had the day to ourselves.  What fun!  What opportunity!  What...missing our girls!

We started the day by seeing The Avengers in theaters.  It was great, though long (2.5 hours).  I think Robert Downey Jr.'s character of Tony Stark had the best lines of the movie, though I absolutely fell in love with how HOT Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye is.  Chris Hemsworth's Thor isn't bad either!  Definitely a movie to rewatch, especially to see more of Captain America and the Hulk.

After that, we wandered down to the food court in the mall and had a pretzel.  How quaint, lol!  Then, I wandered through the children's clothes store while the husband went to Barnes & Noble, and then we got triple-chocolate-covered apples to gnaw on later at the chocolate store.  Home, checked email, then napped.  Mmmm, napping.  Zzzzz.

We went to dinner at Chili's, a place we haven't been in ages.  It was great - food, service, and the cute little girl across the aisle!  It made me miss the girls though, so we went to Wal-Mart to get my mind off that.  Picked up a few things, debated why Wal-Mart has 100 people waiting to check out on a Saturday night and five lanes open (three of which were 20 items or fewer lanes), and then drove home.

We popped in Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva, a movie based on a series of puzzle games I really like (the husband got it for me for Christmas, lol!).  It was a cute movie too, though I'm totally TV-ed out tonight.  Now it's just vegetating in the silence without monitors on (I hope the girls are okay!) and getting ready for bed.  I've got a 5K in the morning, and then to celebrate Mother's Day with my daughters.

Night!
