Working in the yard

While L was at school this morning, E and I decided to tackle some yard work.  This means that I sweated, mowed, raked, pulled weeds, cleaned up, and got things out/put them away while E played with everything she could get her hands on.  All of the nice grass under the mesquite tree has died, so when I raked it all up, there was nothing but dirt left.  Sad.  We went to Home Depot and got some fertilizer and rye grass seed, so we'll probably start working with those in a few days.  All the stuff we raked up got put into giant orange garbage bags, which E and I put out front.  They have pumpkin faces on them, so we now have giant "puh-kins" out front (as E says).  L was so excited to see them upon her return from school.  I really want the backyard nice for this winter so that we can go out every day and play.  Here's hoping it will be nice with all the work I'm going to put into it!
