I went out for a run this morning (it was 54F at the time - brr!). While out on the run, I remember thinking "today would be a great day for my new niece/nephew to be born, because someday s/he could have a birthday on Friday the 13th!" Honest to goodness, that was my thought. Finished my run, took L to sports practice, and just basically went about my day like normal.
Laid the girls down for a nap at 12:15pm and then had about 4 phone calls during the next two hours. FRUSTRATING. I was so tired and couldn't sleep because so many people kept calling. I hate political robocalls! Anyway, the girls were up when the fourth phone call came in, and I noticed it was from my sister-in-law G's cell phone. I answered.
Me: Hello?
Her: Hi!
Baby: *coooooooo*
Me: Oh my gosh!
The baby was born today! And it's a GIRL!!!!! Her name is V, and my nephew (her brother) S apparently wants to have her all to himself. ;) No problems with Mommy or baby, and they're home already. I'm so excited - a nephew and a niece! She is so adorable in the few pictures I've seen, and we got to Skype with them tonight to see her precious face yawn, screw up to cry, and pucker up to nurse. It's too bad they don't make computer screens you can reach through to touch the baby-soft faces and hold them. It's going to be terribly hard to wait until November? December? when I eventually get to meet her. A niece! A niece! I get to be auntie to two adorable children now!!!!!!!
I am way too excited about this. :)
