Yesterday, we went to the grocery store for much needed supplies. When we went to check out, I noticed our neighbor was working a register and decided to check out in her line. I like catching up with her now and then, and she loves seeing the girls. E happened to be wearing a sundress yesterday, and our neighbor said with surprise "oh, I thought she was a boy!" Apparently, she's thought this since E was born. Great.
I realize E doesn't have a whole lot of hair, but really? Even when she's wearing girly things I get comments like "what a handsome boy!," or "he's so cute!," or even once "You're so lucky to have a girl
and a boy!" Um, nope, sorry, I have
two girls. Poor E. I think she looks very much like a girl, but maybe I'm in the minority? And of course, I always then get the snide comment about having another kid so that we have a boy. Really? Takes me straight back to my opinion that a "perfect" family does
not consist of one boy and one girl, but whatever you have and make the most of. Have six boys? It could be the perfect family for you! It's what you make of it. My usual responses are "we don't want to have a third girl," "we're done having kids," and "well, if we do, it's none of your business."
Do
you think E looks like a boy?!? Is it just the hair or what?!??? My poor baby girl!
